Oh my aching neck! Help relieve Neck pain!

You are too special to be dealing with neck pain. Here's a quick tip to help you be free of pain so you can be your BEST self.
First FREEZE! Without judgement,, notice where your head is right now. Is your head in front of your torso like a turtle poking its head out of its shell? Place a finger on your lips like you are saying sshh. Now retract your head like your jaw is a shelf with the jawline staying parallel to the floor. Stop when it feels like, from the side, your ear is in line with your shoulder. Make sure you haven't accidentally lifted your chin, creating any extra wrinkles in your neck. How far ahead of the torso was your head before you corrected? How far is your mouth from your finger now?
Once inch forward of the torso creates an extra 12 pounds of pressure on the neck! Over the course of the day, this is a lot of unnecessary strain. Also, don't you just feel better with this taller posture? When you feel better, you breath and think better, and people pick up on that sense of confidence.
Do this several times a day to get in the habit of optimal head placement.  When did you notice your head position needed the most correction? Driving? At work?
